The Story Behind Joy & Sole
For more than twenty years, I’ve been planning and coordinating events - weddings, conferences, women’s gatherings, funerals, and other occasions that bring people together. Much of that began through years of serving in my church, long before Joy & Sole was ever a business.
What I love most is helping people bring their ideas to life - listening to what matters to them, noticing what needs attention, bringing the people, plans, and details together, and carrying it all through as the event takes shape. Joy & Sole simply gave a name to something I had already loved doing for years.
Why Joy & Sole?
Joy is in memory of my mom, Joyce, whom my dad lovingly called Joy. She was a fashion designer, and creativity was simply part of who she was. Her name is also a reminder to create moments where joy can thrive.
Sole is a gentle nod to my dad, Bill, who designed shoes and boots. I still have the wedding shoes he designed especially for me. The word also reflects something deeper - a desire to walk alongside others with care and grace while following in the footsteps of Christ.
Joy & Sole honors where I have come from and reflects the care, creativity, and hospitality I hope to offer each person I serve.
The Heart of Joy & Sole
To notice the need… create the place… where others feel welcomed, at peace, and seen.
